Gold geodesic glamping domes glowing warmly among bare Michigan trees after dark

Warm in the winter, cool in the summer

Winter Glamping in Michigan

Our gold geodesic domes are insulated and heated, so winter glamping in Michigan means a real bed and a Starview window at the front of the dome while snow settles on the shell above you. Then LUNARA spa, a private sauna and a float tank do the rest.

The domes in winter

Insulated shells, not canvas walls

This is the part that decides whether winter glamping is romantic or regrettable.

A DayDreamer dome is 386 square feet of insulated, climate-controlled shelter, warm in the winter and cool in the summer, with a king or queen bed, hotel-grade linens, a private entrance on 150 rolling acres and a full bath inside the dome. Nobody is walking across frozen grass at 2 a.m. here. A single Starview window at the front of the dome is the whole point in winter: bare branches, clear cold sky, and you horizontal under a duvet watching it.

Snow does something specific to a geodesic dome. It lands on the panels, muffles everything, and turns 150 acres into a room with no edges. Guests who come once in February tend to make it a tradition. If you want the full picture of how the domes work across all four seasons, start with our glamping in Michigan guide, then compare the three dome stays.

Cold-season plans

What to actually do in a Michigan winter

Snowshoeing the acreage

150 acres of open trails go quiet and white. Strap in, walk out, and let 150 quiet acres do the talking for an hour.

Cross-country skiing

Rolling, tree-lined terrain that suits a slow glide better than a downhill sprint. Come back for the fire pit.

Sauna, cold plunge, float

A private sauna for up to 8 guests ($100), then a cold plunge, then a 60-minute float tank session ($75). Winter's best sequence.

Fire pits and clubhouse nights

The 5,000 sq. ft. clubhouse keeps the restaurant, bar and boutique going while the snow settles on the panels outside.

LUNARA in winter

Heat is the amenity of the season

The spa is the reason a winter dome stay beats a summer one for a lot of guests.

The pink pool club closes for the off-season, and LUNARA quietly takes over. Book a private sauna for up to eight guests ($100), a 60-minute float tank session ($75), sound bed therapy ($45), one-hour reiki ($150), or Restorative ($155) and Deep Tissue ($165) bodywork. Facials and body treatments run $125 to $175. In January, a sauna-plunge-float afternoon is a genuinely better use of a Saturday than anything a beach can offer.

Complimentary wellness classes continue on a seasonal schedule, with goat yoga, breathwork, guided meditation and mimosa hikes, included with direct booking. See everything on the LUNARA spa page.

Planning it

Quiet season, easier weekends

Winter is when the property feels most like it belongs to you.

Off-season means shorter waits for spa appointments, empty trails and a downtown South Haven that feels local again, seven minutes away, with the nearest public beach six minutes out and a Lake Michigan shoreline that is arguably more dramatic frozen than sunlit. Saugatuck is twenty minutes if you want a day trip.

Kids are always welcome in the domes. The Pool Club is 6+ Monday through Friday afternoons and 21+ on weekends, and children under 6 are never permitted in the Pool Club area at any time.
