What to Pack for a Dome Glamping Stay

Glamping is not camping, so the packing list is short. Here is exactly what is already waiting in your dome in South Haven, Michigan, and the handful of things worth throwing in the car.

The single most common question we get before arrival is some version of "do we need to bring bedding?" You do not. A dome stay at DayDreamer Domes is closer to a boutique hotel room that happens to sit on 150 acres than to a campsite. The bed is made, the bathroom is inside the dome, and the small comforts are already handled.

Already in your dome

Every dome comes stocked with the following, so you can leave all of it at home:

  • Blankets, sheets and comforters
  • Turkish towels
  • Electric kettle
  • Hairdryer
  • Hand soap
  • Hangers
  • Microwave
  • Mini fridge
  • Earplugs
  • Sleeping masks

Two of those deserve a callout. The earplugs and sleeping masks exist because the domes have a Starview window at the front, magic at midnight, less magic at 5:40 a.m. in June. And the kettle plus mini fridge and microwave mean a slow morning in the dome is genuinely possible: coffee first, decisions later.

What to bring

Personal toiletries. Hand soap and a hairdryer are provided, so bring the rest of your own routine, shampoo, face care, toothbrush, contacts, anything you would not want to substitute.

Swimwear. The pink pool club is seasonal, and the next season opens May 22, 2027. If your dates land inside the season, swimsuits are the one thing people actually regret forgetting. Bring a cover-up and sandals for the walk over to the turf lounge as well.

Warm layers in the colder months. The domes are insulated and stay warm in winter, so this is not about surviving the night, it is about the outdoor half of the trip. Fire pits, snowy trails across 150 acres and the walk to the clubhouse all go better with a real coat, a hat and boots with grip. Read winter glamping in Michigan if you are booking a cold-season stay.

Shoes you can walk in. This is a 150-acre property with open trails, so at least one pair should be able to handle dirt and dew.

Nice extras

A reusable water bottle, a book for the lounge, a portable speaker for your own dome soundtrack, and a camera if your phone does not do justice to gold domes at dusk. Groups often bring a card game for the evening; the clubhouse bodega covers most of the snack gaps you did not plan for.

What to leave behind

Tents, sleeping bags, air mattresses, camp stoves, towels, pillows and lanterns. None of it has a job here. The point of a dome stay is that the outdoors is right outside the door while everything indoors is already comfortable.
